Jerry Downes (January 10th, 2022)
Staff,
With a heavy heart, we share that Jerry Downes passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. Jerry worked at Many Point starting in 1951 as a C.I.T., was Camp Clerk, Unit Counselor, Assistant Area Director, and was the Flintlock Director in 1957. From there, Jerry never stopped his love of Many Point! Jerry was a wonderful example of the Many Point Spirit for he was gracious and a friend to all, great story teller and used his leadership skills to enhance the effectiveness of the troops and the improvement of the camp experience of each Scout. Many Point was part of Jerry’s DNA for he was truly devoted to the Camp as a place for teaching Scouting skills and values. He will be miss by all.
Information on services and Jerry’s celebration of life will soon follow.
Our thoughts are with Jerry’s family.
